Bendigo & Trafalgar LED Safety Tactiles, Victoria

Client: Regional Roads Victoria (Department of Transport & Planning)
Completed: 2023

Regional Roads Victoria wanted to reduce the potential for road crash induced stress and trauma at high-risk intersections by upgrading safety pedestrian crossings in Bendigo and Trafalgar. 64 LED Safety Tactiles were installed to make this very busy intersection safer in the centre of Bendigo. 20 LED Safety Tactiles were installed on the high-speed,  high-risk zone of Princes Hwy in Trafalgar – used by students daily.

This easily implemented safety technology connects to the pedestrian signals to help all pedestrians’ cross busy intersections more safely. Vivacity LED Safety Tactiles, in many scenarios are ideal traffic solutions to improve safety and reduce the stress and trauma caused by road crashes. Reduce the annual total national crash costs of vulnerable road users of $165 million ($136 million for pedestrians, $29 million for bicyclists)
